This is a simple post and not my usual long winded ones. A few days ago, I was borrowing my friend's brand new Prius-V, not to be confused with the v wagon. Anyway was driving along and noticed that the headlamps just turn on instantly without waiting for the ceremonious warm up procedure that my HID type BMW 750Li has to do to reach full brightness. To my surprise, the optics on the Prius-V is quite excellent with no bluish hue to the light signature. Just a 5000K color temperature white beam illuminating the entire road surface cleanly. I am also quite surprise on how bright they are as since this first time that I have ever been behind the wheel of the new Prius and especially with those exceptionally bright and efficient LED headlamps. I have seen some of them on the road, but never have been behind the wheel with those lamps.
The World of Technology is truly evolving into something that we can say is real. Advanced lighting technologies are slowly emerging since their are some who still believe in filament bulbs and florescent lighting. Those are still inefficient when compared to their solid-state lighting counterparts and I know since my home is covered with the new age lighting technology. LED lighting is the future whether it is for transportation and or home applications. Right now 25% of the lighting in the major cities of Germany have switched over to LED lighting technologies primarily to reduce waste disposal, energy consumption, and to be able to design smaller housings to deliver the same or more light.
